David Horn, B.Comm, AACI, P.App, CRP, President

David was born in Virden, Manitoba. Upon graduation of High School in 1996, he enrolled in a four year Bachelor of Commerce program with Red Deer College and the University of Alberta. In 1999 David graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Finance.

Immediately after graduation, David was hired by Sears Canada as a manager trainee and was relocated to Kitchener, Ontario. After one year in this role, Sears moved him to Toronto, Ontario as a Risk Analyst and then to a role as a Corporate Risk Database Analyst. In the summer of 2001, David resigned his position with Sears Corporate to move back to Alberta. It was in March of 2002 that he gained a position as a residential appraiser with Anderson Preece Appraisals. Since that time David, worked his way up to a commercial appraiser.

In February of 2007, Howard & Company Inc purchased the Red Deer office, at which time David took on a partnership role. In October of 2011, David became the president of Howard & Company, managing a team of eight appraisers and three support staff.

During this time David completed all the courses needed and received his designated status as a AACI, P.App from the Appraisal Institute of Canada and a Post Graduate Certificate in Real Property Valuation from the University of British Columbia. To greater further his expertise and knowledge, David achieved the CRP (Certified Reserve Fund Planner) designation in June of 2011 and has been completing Condominium Reserve Fund and Insurance Appraisal assignments since that time.

In May of 2016, David created TruePoint Appraisals, harnessing technology and information in order to better serve our clients.  With our head office located in Red Deer, we serve the greater area including Red Deer, Sylvan Lake, Lacombe, Rocky Mountain House, Ponoka, Innisfail and more.
